A SAGD oil sands project that initially began in 2000, Cenovus’ Christina Lake project extracts oil from 375 metres underground. The project’s Phase F expansion allowed production to increase capacity by 50,000 barrels per day.
Our involvement on the project including completing 7,500 LM of piping insulation, multiple pieces of equipment/tanks and 4,500 blankets for the expansion. During demobilization, Cenovus extended our contract to include assisting other contractors onsite in completing the master deficiency list for multiple areas. At peak man hours, we had 35 craft onsite, working a total of 31,000 hours over 14 months.
